Description For Commissioning Engineer, AWS Commissioning

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their team in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll be part of a creative and efficient team responsible for building and supporting AWS-owned data centers, Hybrid Colos, Single Tenant Colos, and Multi-Tenant Colo builds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting vendors, contractors, and other teams in construction and commissioning of various systems
  • Providing multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects
  • Reviewing component submittal packages, leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and performing system level and integrated system testing
  • Auditing activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Comprehensive weekly reporting of project status and lessons learned
  • Developing commissioning standards
  • Reviewing, commenting on, and creating commissioning scripts L1-L5
  • Organizing and attending meetings to highlight AWS requirements and track build progress
  • Performing site walks to identify installation and testing deficiencies
  • Managing on-site 3rd-party commissioning vendors
  • Working with AWS partner teams to resolve coordination and delivery issues

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 3+ years of commissioning experience
  • Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning-specific education
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (20-50% of the time)
  • Physical ability to work in various conditions and handle equipment

Preferred qualifications include experience with project management software, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, effective communication skills, and advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
