Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) in Madrid. This role is crucial for supporting AWS's growing cloud computing infrastructure in EMEA. As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality and operational excellence of AWS data centers through comprehensive testing, monitoring, and commissioning of critical infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities For Commissioning Engineer

  • Support vendors, contractors and teams in construction and commissioning
  • Manage medium and low voltage power systems
  • Oversee generators, UPS, and HVAC systems
  • Handle chilled water systems and building management systems
  • Manage electrical power monitoring systems
  • Conduct testing and balancing
  • Review component submittal packages
  • Lead Factory Witness Testing
  • Perform system level and integrated system testing
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Provide comprehensive weekly reporting

Requirements For Commissioning Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in mission critical facilities or data center infrastructure
  • 3+ years of commissioning experience
  • Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning specific education
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (50% travel)
  • Basic level of English proficiency
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation
