Amazon Japan is seeking a Construction Associate for their Retrofit Engineering team to support the implementation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in fulfillment centers. This role involves managing construction projects that enhance Amazon's rapid delivery capabilities through facility improvements and equipment installation. The position requires working closely with both local and global engineering teams to implement cutting-edge logistics solutions.
The role combines hands-on construction management with strategic facility planning, requiring regular on-site presence during project execution. You'll be responsible for overseeing construction schedules, quality control, safety management, and budget oversight for large-scale renovation projects at fulfillment centers and sort centers.
Working in a team of 3-4 engineers per project, you'll collaborate on projects lasting from 10 months to 2 years. The position offers flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to contribute to Amazon's expanding logistics infrastructure in Japan. You'll be involved in all phases of project delivery, from concept design through construction completion, ensuring successful implementation of advanced material handling solutions.

Responsibilities For Construction Associate, Retrofit Engineering, JCFS
- Process management: Create and manage construction schedules
- Quality management: Check vendor work and ensure construction proceeds according to schedule
- Safety management: Ensure construction site safety and conduct safety briefings
- Budget management: Manage construction costs and material procurement
- Equipment management: Select and arrange initial spare parts for equipment maintenance
- Design and implement high-efficiency MHE to realize input/output capacity
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to introduce cutting-edge processes
- Lead multiple projects including capacity expansion and renovation
Requirements For Construction Associate, Retrofit Engineering, JCFS
- Experience in logistics (MHE/Storage/Automation) or manufacturing equipment setup and maintenance
- Experience in communicating with internal departments and external vendors to promote business as planned
- Ability to create data analysis and technical reports using Microsoft Office
- Japanese and English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- CAD layout design experience and mechanical design skills based on strength/structural calculations
