AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to join their team responsible for keeping the cloud running. This role involves overseeing the construction of Amazon's industry-leading data centers, working alongside Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams. As Construction Manager, you'll manage some of the most sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems globally, serving as Amazon's owner's representative on-site.
The position demands expertise in construction project management, focusing on new builds and capital projects. You'll be responsible for scope management, quality control, scheduling, and budget oversight. Daily responsibilities include interfacing with contractors, conducting negotiations, creating project scopes, performing financial analyses, and ensuring construction quality meets AWS's high standards.

Responsibilities For Construction Manager, AMER East Construction
- Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout phases
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals
- Create construction project scope and request for proposals
- Financial analysis of construction
- Construction project management for data center resiliency initiatives
- Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
- Construction document management including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing
- Construction project quality control
- Record and report key construction metrics
- Drive teams in troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis
Requirements For Construction Manager, AMER East Construction
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent engineering science OR 6+ years of related experience
- 6+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex MEP projects
- 6+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience
- 6+ years of experience constructing electrical engineering systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
- Experience in controls and commissioning of large scale projects
