AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, essentially keeping the cloud running. As a Data Center Construction Manager, you'll join a diverse team responsible for building and managing AWS data centers worldwide. You'll work on industry-leading, energy-efficient, and cost-effective designs, collaborating with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams.
The role involves daily on-site presence, acting as Amazon's owner's representative, managing construction vendors and contractors, and ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, and quality targets. You'll oversee some of the most sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems globally, handling everything from design review to construction bidding, execution, and final handoff.

Responsibilities For Construction Manager, AMER East Construction
- Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout phases
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals
- Create construction project scope and request for proposals
- Financial analysis of construction
- Construction project management for data center initiatives
- Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
- Construction document management
- Construction project quality control
- Record and report key construction metrics
- Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis
Requirements For Construction Manager, AMER East Construction
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent engineering science OR 6+ years of related construction management experience
- 6+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plants
- 6+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience
- 6+ years of experience constructing electrical engineering systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings
