Description For Construction Regional Safety Engineer, DCPD Health and Safety

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Regional Safety Engineer to support their Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) programs. This role combines technical expertise in health and safety with strategic program development and implementation.

The position involves partnering with multiple teams including Real Estate, Due Diligence, Permitting, Energy, Water, Pre-Construction, Construction, Commissioning, Security, and Procurement to enhance safety culture and achieve health and safety goals. You'll work under regional H&S Program Specialists, covering Americas, Europe Middle East Africa, or Asia Pacific/Japan China.

As a Regional Safety Engineer, you'll be responsible for deploying comprehensive safety programs, reviewing risk assessments, coordinating with DCPD managers, and ensuring compliance with AWS Safety Management Program requirements. The role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and experience with contractor management.

Responsibilities For Construction Regional Safety Engineer, DCPD Health and Safety

  • Review due diligence risk assessments with real estate, preconstruction, and construction operations
  • Coordinate with DCPD managers to prioritize H&S in planning and execution
  • Ensure & Monitor General Contractors and AWS deployment vendors compliance
  • Perform campus H&S kickoff sessions and reviews of Safety Management Plans
  • Document data and anecdotes in standard reporting tools
  • Manage 3rd party/internal H&S resources on DCPD projects
  • Conduct regular site visits
  • Host project and regional specific contractor H&S sessions

Requirements For Construction Regional Safety Engineer, DCPD Health and Safety

Kubernetes
  • 5-7 years experience in health and safety, contractor management, due diligence reviews
  • Advanced certification through recognized agency/association in occupational health and safety
  • Experience in ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, or ISO 45001)
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and fast-paced environments
  • Ability to travel 30-60% domestically & internationally
  • Strong analytical skills on leading and lagging data
  • Demonstrated understanding of health and safety regulations
