Description For Control Systems Engineer, EMEA Controls

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of keeping the cloud running, managing the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join a diverse team supporting AWS data centers worldwide. The position focuses on developing and maintaining critical control systems that ensure optimal data center operations.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data center operations and automated sequences, working to increase efficiency and availability. You'll be responsible for next-generation control system design, sequence development, and hardware integration, applying creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions at scale.

Working from Zaragoza, Spain, you'll collaborate with multiple teams, including construction, operations, commissioning, software development, and sourcing. The role requires extensive knowledge of critical infrastructure, building operations, mechanical plant strategies, and complex environmental and electrical concepts. You'll be instrumental in diagnosing and repairing control system malfunctions, providing QA/QC oversight, and developing innovative solutions for team and company goals.

Responsibilities For Control Systems Engineer, EMEA Controls

  • Provide support and develop mechanisms for next-generation control system design
  • Develop sequence development, hardware integration, and I/O mapping tables
  • Lead and facilitate collaboration with multiple teams
  • Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions
  • Provide QA/QC oversight of hardware installation
  • Create and maintain specification documents for global projects
  • Develop and support mechanisms for mechanical and electrical controls products
  • Interact with AWS cloud services for data analysis
  • Travel 50% or more to manage and support project deployments

Requirements For Control Systems Engineer, EMEA Controls

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science
  • Proficiency in software programming languages, including Python and/or Codesys
  • 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, including programming development, start-up, and commissioning of critical systems
  • 3+ years of experience in designing or contributing to the design of Controls and Monitoring solution projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
