Description For Controls Design Engineer, Controls Design Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role within the Controls Design Engineering (CDE) team focuses on maintaining and enhancing data center control systems. The position requires deep expertise in building operations, mechanical plant strategies, and BMS programming concepts.

As a Controls Design Engineer, you'll be part of the team that ensures AWS data centers maintain optimal performance through sophisticated control and automation systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technology in critical environments, collaborating with multiple teams including construction, programmers, and MEP engineers to deliver consistent standards for data center controls systems.

Responsibilities For Controls Design Engineer, Controls Design Engineering

  • Track, document, communicate and enhance global data center design standards
  • Lead and facilitate collaboration with multiple teams
  • Create and maintain specification documents for global projects
  • Vendor selection, bid review, and RFI support
  • Manage and prioritize requests for information on construction builds
  • Review MEP design drawings
  • Provide trouble shooting support
  • Review and approve vendor submittals
  • Travel globally when needed to manage project initiatives

Requirements For Controls Design Engineer, Controls Design Engineering

Linux
  • 5 years in utilizing or generating MEP drawings and design engineering documents for data centers
  • 3 years in designing Controls and Monitoring solution projects
  • 5 years experience driving large-scale enterprise data center projects
  • 1 year project management experience
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Experience with building management systems (Tridium, Trend, Schneider, Siemens preferred)
  • Experience with electrical power monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure
