Description For Controls Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team responsible for keeping the cloud running. This role is crucial in managing the Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) across AWS data centers globally. You'll work with a diverse team of experts, managing critical infrastructure components including generators, cooling systems, and power distribution units.

The position requires strong technical expertise in industrial controls and project management skills. You'll be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining control systems, developing new processes, and ensuring the reliable operation of data center infrastructure. Responsibilities For Controls Engineer

  • Train and assist with creation, design, configuration of BMS and EPMS systems
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations
  • Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects
  • Participate in AWS global on-call schedule
  • Review, implement, troubleshoot controls sequence of operation
  • Develop control panel BOM's, cable routing plans and schedules
  • Develop drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes
  • Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts

Requirements For Controls Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent engineering science plus 3+ years of relevant controls experience, OR 8+ years of relevant controls experience
  • 3+ years of on-site experience with industrial controls in critical environment
  • 2+ years of general project or vendor management experience
  • Experience with Honeywell, Tridium Niagara, Building Controls/Trend, Schneider Electric, PowerLogic/Struxureware, Distech, Inductive Automation: Ignition
