Description For Controls Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Controls Deployment Engineer to join their global controls team, focusing on the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS) across AWS data centers. You'll work with cutting-edge technology managing critical infrastructure components including generators, cooling systems, and power distribution units.

The position offers an opportunity to work with highly motivated experts in the data center industry, where you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, project management, and system maintenance. You'll apply Amazon leadership principles to develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space.

Responsibilities For Controls Engineer

  • Manage scope and schedule of BMS and EPMS vendors during construction of AWS data centers
  • Develop scope of work for site improvement projects
  • Review controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to design
  • Manage BMS and EPMS construction contracts and assist in procurement activities
  • Perform comprehensive review of BMS and EPMS submittals
  • Participate in AWS global on-call schedule
  • Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings
  • Support Controls related Commissioning activities in field
  • Supervise vendor's work to ensure compliance with design and codes

Requirements For Controls Engineer

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering degrees with 5 years Controls related experience; or Associates degree and 7 years experience; or High School diploma with 10 years experience
  • Experience with industrial controls in critical environment
  • 2+ years in Controls or Electrical construction project coordination
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
