Description For Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS) to join their EMEA team. This role is crucial in managing building automation systems within Amazon data centers. The position combines technical expertise in project/construction management with mechanical and electrical knowledge to handle sophisticated controls platforms.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining Building Management Systems (BMS) & Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across AWS's leased/colocation data centers. They will work closely with Data Center Engineering Operations teams to implement new builds and upgrades while ensuring high availability and resiliency of control systems.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team supports all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continuous access to AWS services. Responsibilities For Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer

  • Ascertain customer needs to help develop project scope and specifications
  • Manage project engineering to determine scope of work
  • Develop control panel BOMs
  • Develop ISA data sheets for various instrumentation
  • Develop drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes
  • Develop logic diagrams for complex logic devices
  • Prepare cable routing plans and schedules
  • Perform inspections, testing, and commission of facility systems
  • Coordinate project work internally and externally
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support other regions

Requirements For Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer

Linux
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degrees
  • Minimum Three (3) years in BMS or EPMS Controls related experience
  • Understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC
