Description For Controls Service Engineer - AWS, AWS Control, Deployment and Service Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Controls Service Engineer in the Global Controls Team, you will work on innovative solutions for data center automation systems, including building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS). Your responsibilities will include performing root cause analysis, supervising maintenance, vendor management, developing scopes of work, reviewing controls sequences, providing technical assistance, participating in on-call schedules, and developing/modifying controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces. This role requires travel (25-50%) to support multiple data center clusters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform controls root cause analysis
  • Schedule and supervise quarterly maintenances for BMS and EPMS
  • Provide vendor management
  • Develop scope of work for site improvement projects
  • Review controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to design
  • Provide technical assistance to internal customers during the life cycle of the data center
  • Participate in a global on-call schedule within the SGT time zone
  • Ensure data center controls are deployed according to specifications
  • Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings
  • Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in an engineering-based discipline
  • 5 years of experience in either design programming, or startup/commissioning
  • Experience in project management
  • Demonstrated understanding of communication protocols (MODBUS, BACNET)
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with controls in data centers or other critical facilities
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
