This role is part of the Controls System Development team within the Data Center Engineering organization. As a Controls System Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for critical automation systems in AWS data centers, focusing on PLC programming, electrical systems, and control automation. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, developing and implementing solutions that directly impact the efficiency and reliability of AWS's global infrastructure.

The position requires deep technical expertise in electrical systems, automation, and programming, combining software development skills with industrial control systems knowledge. Responsibilities For Controls System Development Engineer, Data Center Controls SysDev Engineering - Electrical

  • Subject matter expert in low voltage switchgear breaker control and generator automation
  • Develop, program and iterate sequence of operations and HMI graphics
  • Contribute and maintain library of standard tested automation logic function blocks
  • Create and maintain specification documents for global projects
  • Vendor selection, bid review, and RFI support
  • Manage and prioritize requests for information on construction builds
  • Travel globally when needed to manage and support project initiatives

  • 3+ years of designing or architecting systems experience

  • 5 years of experience in PLC development leveraging IEC-61131 Structured Text
