Responsibilities For Controls System Engineer II, Amazon Robotics (AR)

  • Designing controls for robotics and industrial automation equipment
  • Applying IEC industrial standards for the development lifecycle of electrical control systems
  • Writing or reviewing safety requirement specifications and safety management plans
  • Writing or reviewing functional specifications and test procedures
  • Analyzing failure modes of control circuits and identifying mitigations
  • Driving projects to closure and ensuring systems meet regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring systems comply to machinery safety standards (IEC 60204 and/or IEC 62061)

Requirements For Controls System Engineer II, Amazon Robotics (AR)

  • BS / MS Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • 6 years of experience in electrical control systems
  • Demonstrated experience with IEC standards for electrical controls for robotics
  • Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards
  • Experience with PLCs or microcontrollers
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Solid debugging skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
