The Controls Engineer creates advanced motion control systems to enable Amazon's packaging platforms to surprise and delight customers while optimizing for the internal supply chain. The primary role is to design and program motion control systems that power Amazon's packaging machinery and automation, including deep knowledge of HMI, PLC, motion control, and integration of safety/ancillary systems.

The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team develops automated solutions and sustainable packaging across Amazon's operations, focusing on customer experience and waste reduction.
This role requires experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure, programming skills in modern languages, Linux/Unix knowledge, and experience with CI/CD pipelines. A Bachelor's degree in Automation, Controls, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) is required, along with proven experience in advanced motion control platforms and at least 1 year of experience with motion control software.
Preferred qualifications include experience with distributed systems at scale, safety certification experience, integration of industrial hotmelt application systems, advanced vision systems, and Codesys programming experience.
