The Controls Engineer position at Amazon's Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team is a crucial role focused on creating advanced motion control systems for Amazon's packaging platforms. This role combines software engineering with industrial automation, requiring expertise in both programming and control systems. The position involves designing and implementing sophisticated motion control systems that power Amazon's packaging machinery, working at the intersection of software and hardware.

The role requires deep knowledge of HMI, PLC, motion control, and safety systems integration. You'll be working closely with Electrical and Mechanical teams, ensuring control systems meet project objectives while optimizing for customer experience and supply chain efficiency. Responsibilities For Controls Systems Engineer, Packaging Innovation, MSP

  • Design and program motion control systems for Amazon's packaging machinery and automation
  • Collaborate with project team to design systems architecture

  • Ensure complete and scalable project documentation
  • Support the safety certification process

Requirements For Controls Systems Engineer, Packaging Innovation, MSP

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
  • Experience programming with Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • Bachelors Degree in Automation, Controls, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in advanced motion control platforms
  • 1+ years experience with motion control software (Rockwell, Rexroth, Beckhoff, B&R, Siemens)
