Description For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to join their Field Engineering team. This role is crucial in supporting AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. As the primary engineering resource for your region, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, conducting Root Cause Analysis, and creating Corrective Action documentation for site/equipment failures. You'll work with diverse teams to support operational issues, review complex procedures, and lead engineering audits.

The position requires strong engineering judgment, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in AWS's data centers, interfacing with various teams responsible for all aspects of the facilities. Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Lead engineering audits and produce risk assessment reports
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering
  • Experience with mission critical facilities, especially data centers
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes
  • Understanding of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment/design
  • Knowledge of EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls systems
  • Professional Engineer registration preferred
