AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in supporting AWS data centers and ensuring continuous access to cloud innovation for customers.

As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the technical expert for your region, providing comprehensive support for AWS Data Centers throughout their lifecycle. Your responsibilities will range from initial design to ongoing maintenance and improvements. You'll work with diverse teams to troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions that enhance capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability.

The position offers a unique blend of hands-on field work and strategic planning. Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action documentation
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Lead engineering audits and produce risk assessment reports
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Experience using web-based and software tools for calculation and data processing
  • Strong Engineering Judgement
