Description For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering (Level 4)

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Engineer to join their team responsible for keeping the cloud running. This role combines engineering expertise with hands-on field work in AWS data centers. You'll provide full life-cycle support from design inception through maintenance, serving as the primary engineering resource for your region. The position involves troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis, and creating solutions that improve capacity, availability, and efficiency.

As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you'll work alongside software, hardware, and network engineers, contributing to the operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial for maintaining AWS's position as the world's leading cloud platform, ensuring continuous service delivery while optimizing for cost and efficiency.

Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering (Level 4)

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Lead engineering audits including on-site visits
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering (Level 4)

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Coursework in commercial/industrial power systems
  • Organized with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience using web-based software tools for calculation and data processing
