Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to join their Field Engineering team. This role is crucial in supporting AWS's data center infrastructure, providing full life-cycle support from design inception through maintenance. As a Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be the primary engineering resource for your region, leveraging your expertise to solve complex technical challenges and drive innovation.

The position involves a dynamic mix of field and office work, where you'll interact with diverse teams responsible for all aspects of data centers. You'll focus on maintaining data center capacity, availability, and safety while working on projects both locally and globally. Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Lead engineering audits and produce risk assessment reports
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering
  • Valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and building codes
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers
  • EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience
