Description For Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to join their team supporting global data center operations. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic planning, requiring expertise in mechanical systems and data center infrastructure. You'll be the primary engineering resource for your region, responsible for everything from troubleshooting and maintenance to designing upgrades that improve capacity and efficiency.

Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action documentation
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Lead engineering audits including on-site visits
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Coursework in commercial/industrial mechanical systems
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience using web-based and software tools for calculation and data processing
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget
