AWS Data Center Field Engineering Team seeks a Critical Infrastructure Portfolio Engineer to lead the lifecycle management of AWS data centers. This role combines technical leadership with strategic oversight of data center infrastructure, focusing on innovation, reliability, and optimization. You'll manage complex engineering projects, working with HVAC, power distribution systems, and controls while leading multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Portfolio Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Full lifecycle ownership from availability risk identification to global fleet-wide resolution
  • Develop standards and processes for tracking, reporting, and closure of risks
  • Prepare narratives for executive leadership with recommendations
  • Lead multi-discipline and highly technical teams
  • Partner with engineering teams, operations staff, and project execution teams
  • Make strategic decisions regarding projects and program direction
  • Identify and communicate upcoming risks, issues, and bottlenecks

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Portfolio Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and high quality standards
  • Experience in data center MEP infrastructure technologies
  • Strong engineering judgment
  • Experience managing engineering projects
  • Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects
  • Up to 10% travel expected
