Description For Critical Infrastructure Regional Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Critical Infrastructure Regional Mechanical Engineer and become part of the team that keeps the cloud running. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, from initial design through maintenance and improvements. As the regional engineering expert, you'll tackle complex technical challenges, conduct root cause analyses, and develop innovative solutions for AWS's expanding data center fleet.

You'll collaborate with diverse teams including data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety to maintain high standards of service delivery. The position offers a mix of office and field work, allowing you to directly impact AWS's infrastructure while working on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Regional Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Lead engineering audits including on-site visits
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Regional Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Coursework in commercial/industrial mechanical systems
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience using web-based software tools for calculation and data processing
  • Detail and data oriented mindset
  • Experience solving problems with engineered solutions
