Data Center Chief Engineer, Data Center Engg Ops

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Chief Engineer to join their Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This role is crucial in maintaining the critical physical infrastructure supporting AWS, ensuring 99.999% uptime for mission-critical servers. The position involves managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems (MEP), overseeing both planned preventative maintenance and emergency responses.

The Chief Engineer serves as the technical expert, reporting to the Data Center Facility Manager and working with Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and vendors. They manage small-to-medium large impact projects, driving innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs. The role requires expertise in managing complex equipment including diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, chillers, and building automation systems.

AWS Infrastructure Services, the team behind this role, owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. They tackle the most challenging problems in cloud infrastructure, working with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
