Description For Data Center Engineering Operations, CGK - DCEO

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. This role within the Infrastructure Operations (Data Center) Team is crucial for maintaining AWS's physical infrastructure and ensuring optimal operational performance.

As a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing critical facilities, focusing on risk management, maintenance planning, and vendor coordination within AWS Data Centers. The position requires a strong technical background and the vision to enhance data center engineering operations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing critical infrastructure maintenance, supervising specialist vendors, responding to incidents, and becoming a subject matter expert for the facility. You'll work with various teams including DCO managers, Networking, Logistics, Safety, and Security to optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.

The role offers exposure to cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and the opportunity to work with diverse teams across AWS. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations, CGK - DCEO

  • Act as site primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure
  • On-site management of contractors and vendors
  • Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports
  • Generate change management requests & incident management tickets
  • Coordinate projects and manage capacity with various teams
  • Establish documentation for technical support
  • Drive & implement projects to increase facility capacity and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and facility management

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations, CGK - DCEO

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire systems in a data center or critical space facility
  • Ability to participate in 24 x 7 rotating shift roster
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center environment
  • Experience in management of vendors/contractors
  • Familiarity with Service Management systems
