This senior engineering role in Data Center Engineering Operations focuses on maintaining critical physical infrastructure supporting Amazon Web Services. The position involves ensuring 100% availability of data center MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems while providing first-class customer service.
The role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, and cooling towers. You'll work closely with IT managers and business leaders to optimize facility performance, manage capacity, and ensure reliability.
Key aspects include:
- Managing relationships with third-party colocation providers and facility staff
- Establishing performance benchmarks and conducting analysis of facility operations
- Overseeing maintenance of critical infrastructure and vendor management
- Contributing to capacity planning and new facility design
- Participating in a 24x7 rotating shift roster

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations, DC Communities
- Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports on critical facility operations
- Manage on-site contractors and vendors
- Manage relationships with third-party colocation providers
- Operate and manage routine and emergency services for critical systems
- Data center capacity planning and reporting
- Assist in design and build out of new facilities
- Coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders
- Manage asset and inventory management
- Generate change management requests and incident management tickets
- Participate in 24x7 rotating shift roster
Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations, DC Communities
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
- 5+ years of Data Center Engineering Experience, Power Utilities or Oil & Gas
- Skills in leading and managing critical facilities operations
- Knowledge in emergency situation and operation management
- Good understanding of written and spoken English
