Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their world-class team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. This role serves as the front line for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance in AWS's sophisticated data centers. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, maintaining mission-critical systems including diesel generators, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and fire/life safety systems.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work in some of the world's most advanced data centers, collaborating with global experts to implement new technologies and best practices. You'll be responsible for ensuring 24/7 reliability through regular monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vital systems. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

  • Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing to support change management program
  • Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution
  • On-site support of contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
