AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the world's largest cloud computing portfolio, ensuring 99.999% uptime for critical infrastructure.
As an EOT, you'll work alongside software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts. Your primary responsibilities include troubleshooting facility and rack-level events, performing rack installations and decommissioning, and monitoring critical infrastructure systems. You'll also manage on-site contractors and vendors, ensuring all work adheres to established procedures and local legislation.
The position requires technical expertise in electrical or mechanical systems, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently and perform various physical tasks in a data center environment. Work schedules involve 12-hour shifts on a rotating basis, with possible on-call duties.
