Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you'll join a diverse team supporting AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The role involves maintaining critical infrastructure with 99.999% uptime requirements, troubleshooting facility issues, and managing contractors. You'll work in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers, collaborating with global experts to implement cutting-edge technology. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Monitor maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Ensure safety procedures adherence
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% up-time
  • Support basic concepts like ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts based on site needs

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
