Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you'll join the team that keeps the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. This role involves hands-on work with critical infrastructure, ensuring 99.999% uptime for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio.

You'll work alongside diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, contributing to projects of moderate complexity. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting facility and rack-level events, performing installations and decommissioning, and monitoring critical systems. The role requires technical expertise in electrical or mechanical systems, with opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

The position offers a dynamic work environment in one of the world's most sophisticated and secure data centers. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors and vendors
  • Monitor maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time
  • Support multiple locations/sites as needed

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical capabilities for walking, climbing, stooping, and working on ladders
