Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their world-class team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. As an EOT at AWS, you'll work in some of the world's most sophisticated and secure data centers, supporting the operations of powerful data center facilities. The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, including work with diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, HVAC systems, and various critical infrastructure components.

You'll be part of Amazon's front-line team, reporting to a Data Center Facility Manager, where you'll be responsible for ensuring 24/7 reliability of mission-critical systems. The position requires both technical expertise and physical capabilities, as you'll be performing regular maintenance rounds, monitoring building management systems, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting contractor work.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing to support change management program
  • Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution
  • On-site support of contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
