Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the backbone of Amazon Web Services, as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician. This role puts you at the forefront of maintaining and operating some of the world's most sophisticated data centers. You'll be part of a team responsible for the critical infrastructure that powers AWS's global cloud computing platform.

As an EOT, you'll work with cutting-edge technology, handling everything from electrical systems and mechanical equipment to fire/life safety systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring vital infrastructure, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring 24/7 reliability of our data center operations.

The position offers unique challenges and opportunities for growth, working alongside industry experts and the brightest minds in cloud computing. You'll be responsible for maintaining various critical systems including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, cooling systems, and building automation systems.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installations and decommissioning
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors
  • Maintain mission-critical data center facility equipment

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
