Join Amazon Web Services (AWS), Earth's most customer-centric company, as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician supporting the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure. This role puts you at the forefront of maintaining and operating critical data center systems that power AWS's global operations.

As an EOT, you'll be part of a dynamic team responsible for the 24/7 reliability of sophisticated data centers. Your daily responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining crucial electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. You'll work with cutting-edge Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS), performing essential maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted service.

The position offers hands-on experience with advanced infrastructure, including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, and various cooling systems. You'll be involved in rack installation, decommissioning, and preventative maintenance, while also contributing to technical documentation and change management processes.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance and perform tasks on ladder
  • Ability to work in rotating 12-hour shifts
