The role involves hands-on work with electrical and mechanical systems, including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, and various cooling systems. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities
- Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
- Perform rack installs and decommissioning
- Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Technical writing for change management program
- Monitor and resolve daily work requests
- Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors
- Maintain mission-critical data center facility equipment
Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities
- Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
- 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
- Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
