Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud platform running. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of the front-line team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers.

The role involves hands-on work with electrical and mechanical systems, including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, and various cooling systems. You'll be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting this mission-critical equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors
  • Maintain mission-critical data center facility equipment

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
