Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the cloud running worldwide. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of Earth's most customer-centric company, working with front-line responders who support some of the world's most powerful data centers.

Your role involves maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems, ensuring 24/7 reliability. You'll work with cutting-edge technology in sophisticated, safe, and secure data centers, alongside the brightest minds globally. The position combines hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance with troubleshooting responsibilities.

Daily responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining various systems - from electrical and mechanical to fire/life safety equipment. You'll work with Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Management System (EPMS), and handle rack installations and decommissioning. The role requires technical expertise in maintaining critical equipment like diesel generators, UPS units, chillers, and cooling towers.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support of contractors and vendors
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Ability to participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds
  • Physical ability to maintain balance and perform tasks on ladder
  • Ability to work in environment requiring ear protection
