Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join Amazon Web Services (AWS), Earth's most customer-centric company, as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician. You'll be part of the team maintaining and operating some of the world's most sophisticated and secure data centers. The role involves hands-on work with critical infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.

As an EOT, you'll work alongside global experts, implementing cutting-edge technology and best practices. Your responsibilities include daily monitoring of facility systems, troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring 24/7 reliability of data center operations. You'll handle both electrical systems (generators, UPS units, PDUs) and mechanical equipment (chillers, cooling towers, air handlers).

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the backbone of AWS global infrastructure, literally keeping the cloud running. You'll join a diverse team of engineers and specialists working on challenging problems that impact global cloud computing. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installations and decommissioning
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical capability to maintain balance and perform tasks on ladders
  • Ability to work in rotating 12-hour shifts
