Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician and become part of Earth's most customer-centric company. You'll work with front-line teams supporting operations of world-class data centers, maintaining critical infrastructure systems. This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, reporting to a Data Center Facility Manager.

Your responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining mission-critical systems like diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and fire/life safety systems. You'll conduct daily rounds, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure 24/7 reliability of data center operations.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • On-site support of contractors and vendors
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Ability to participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds
  • Physical ability to work on ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs
