Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician and become part of Earth's most customer-centric company. You'll work with front-line teams supporting operations of world-class data centers, maintaining critical infrastructure systems. The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of sophisticated data center facilities.

As an EOT, you'll be responsible for maintaining and operating mission-critical equipment including diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, HVAC systems, and fire/life safety equipment. You'll conduct daily rounds, monitor building management systems, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to technical issues within SLAs.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Ability to participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
