Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Water Tech

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking talented individuals to join their Data Center Engineering Operations Team, focusing on maintaining critical physical infrastructure. As a Water Infrastructure Tech, you'll play a vital role in ensuring AWS data centers operate at peak efficiency.

The role combines technical expertise in water systems with operational excellence. You'll be responsible for enhancing Water Utilization Efficiency (WUE), implementing Legionella programs, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Working with state-of-the-art water infrastructure equipment, including ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems, you'll maintain and optimize these crucial systems.

You'll join a collaborative team of three highly trained Chief Engineers with over 20 years of combined AWS experience. The position offers unique challenges in maintaining the backbone of AWS's cloud infrastructure, requiring both technical knowledge and physical capabilities. You'll work closely with various teams, from Field Engineering to Environmental, contributing to AWS's mission of providing reliable cloud services.

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of keeping the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers globally. Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Water Tech

  • Conducting analyses to enhance Water Utilization Efficiency (WUE)
  • Implementing and enhancing Legionella program
  • Ensuring compliance with ODEQ and local regulations
  • Acting as SME for water infrastructure equipment
  • Overseeing preventative maintenance and spare parts management
  • Conducting water sampling activities
  • Coordinating with vendors for equipment troubleshooting
  • Engaging with supporting teams (Field Engineering, Design Engineering, Environmental)
  • Working around evaporative cooling ponds

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Water Tech

Linux
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in data center or critical environment
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment
  • Understanding of water quality regulations
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to work on ladders and perform maintenance tasks
