This Senior Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer role is crucial for maintaining critical physical infrastructure supporting AWS. You'll be responsible for ensuring 100% availability of data center MEP systems while providing first-class customer service.
The role involves managing complex electrical and mechanical systems, including DRUPS, transformers, generators, UPS systems, chillers, and cooling towers. You'll establish performance benchmarks, manage vendors and contractors, handle capacity planning, and ensure optimal facility operations.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Ops Engineer, DC Communities
- Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance
- Manage on-site sub-contractors and vendors
- Manage relationship with third party Colocation providers
- Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems
- Data Center capacity planning and reporting
- Assist in design and build out of new facilities
- Work with IT managers for project coordination and capacity management
- Procurement for DCEO related expenditure
- Asset and inventory management
Requirements For Data Center Engineering Ops Engineer, DC Communities
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire systems experience in a data center or critical space facility
- Ability to participate in a 24 x 7 rotating shift roster
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in data center environment (DRUPS, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, etc.)
