Description For Data Center Engineering Ops Engineer, DCEO

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer is responsible for engineering operations including risk management and mitigation, planning, implementation of corrective and preventative maintenance for critical infrastructure and vendor management within our AWS Data Center environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure
  • On-site management of contractors and vendors
  • Preparing reports on data center facility infrastructure operations and maintenance
  • Generating change management requests and incident management tickets
  • Coordinating with various teams to execute projects and optimize plant performance
  • Implementing projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability
  • Supporting troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events
  • Performing rack installs, decommissioning, and facility management

The role requires participation in a 24x7 rotating shift roster and may involve up to 12-hour shifts. Required Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • Ability to participate in a 24x7 rotating shift roster

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of data center engineering experience
  • Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities
  • Experience in management of vendors/contractors in large-scale critical environments
