AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join their expanding Data Centers (DC) Cloud regions. This role is crucial in maintaining AWS's global infrastructure, which powers their cloud computing services. The position combines hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting with operational responsibilities.

As a Data Center Facility Engineer, you'll be part of the team that keeps the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The role requires working in a dynamic environment where you'll collaborate with diverse teams including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts.

Key responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, operating critical infrastructure equipment (UPS, Switchgear, HVAC, etc.), performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting facility issues, and conducting root cause analysis. The position involves working rotational shifts including nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and a commitment to safety. Responsibilities For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture
  • Support electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, emergency generator, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights)

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
