Description For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon Web Services' global operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS data centers worldwide. This role as a Data Center Facility Engineer is crucial in maintaining AWS's world-class infrastructure. You'll join a diverse team managing critical facility operations, focusing on both electrical and mechanical systems that keep the cloud running.

The position combines hands-on technical expertise with operational excellence, requiring you to maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated data center equipment including UPS systems, switchgear, HVAC, and emergency generators. Working in a rotational shift pattern, you'll ensure 24/7 facility operations while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture
  • Support electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, emergency generator, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights)

Requirements For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
