Description For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon Web Services' global infrastructure, responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS data centers worldwide. This role as a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer is crucial for maintaining AWS's world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. You'll join a diverse team working on challenging problems that directly impact AWS's ability to provide continuous service to customers worldwide.

The position combines hands-on technical expertise with operational excellence in a 24/7 data center environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure including UPS systems, switchgear, generators, HVAC systems, and more. The role demands a strong focus on safety culture while ensuring optimal facility operations.

Working in rotational shifts (4 days on, 4 days off), you'll perform essential maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of facility systems. Responsibilities For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture
  • Support electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, emergency generator, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance

Requirements For Data Center Facility Engineer, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, Instrumentation and Control, project management or similar technical focus
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
