AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Data Center Facility Engineer to join our team responsible for keeping the cloud running. This role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for AWS Data Centers across cloud regions. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions while striving for operational excellence.

The position requires strong technical expertise in facility operations, particularly with equipment like UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC systems, and Transformers. You'll be part of the Engineering and Facilities team, ensuring high availability for customers while maintaining critical infrastructure.

  • Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers
  • Maintain availability for customers
  • Ensure implementation of safety procedures
  • Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements
  • Follow and maintain highest safety standards
  • Own safety initiatives and projects

Linux
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities
  • In-depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
  • Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night)
  • Participate in on-call rotation
