Description For Data Center Facility Engineer (M&E) - West London, DCEO

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. We're looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance

The role requires operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFD's, and Transformers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required
  • Ability to work shifts (morning, late, and night)
  • On-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls

Basic Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in a critical operations environment
  • Broad operational knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive Data Center engineering experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline
  • Familiarity with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems
