Description For Data Center Facility Engineer (Mech/Elec) - UAE National Only

AWS has an exciting Data Center Facility Engineer opportunity in Abu Dhabi available for a UAE national with family book. This role is part of AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure following a process-oriented approach. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the highest safety standards and fostering a world-class safety culture
  • Supporting electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFD's, and Transformers
  • Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities

The role involves working rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off. You'll be part of a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls
