In this role, you'll be part of the AWS Infrastructure Services team that owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You'll work with teams of front-line responders who support the operations of some of the world's most powerful data centers, maintaining critical infrastructure systems that ensure 99.999% uptime.
As a Facility Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of the data center's physical infrastructure, managing teams of 24x7 shift technicians while ensuring high availability and performance. You'll be responsible for maintaining service level agreements, managing budgets, driving safety protocols, and leading improvement projects. The role requires technical expertise in critical systems like switchgear, generators, UPS systems, cooling systems, and building monitoring systems.

Responsibilities For Data Center Facility Operations Manager, DCC Communities
- Oversee data center's critical physical infrastructure
- Manage 24x7 shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors
- Drive safety and security culture and compliance
- Hire, coach, and promote team members
- Manage operations budget and expenditures
- Lead improvement projects from conception to completion
- Act as escalation point for facilities-related issues
- Oversee critical systems operation (switchgear, generators, UPS, cooling systems)
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Respond to out-of-hours emergency calls
- Support multiple locations/sites as needed
Requirements For Data Center Facility Operations Manager, DCC Communities
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 4+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or mission critical environment
- Knowledge of UPS, Generators, HVAC, Evaporators and critical infrastructure
- Physical ability to lift 40+ pounds
- Ability to work on ladders and perform construction tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
