Description For Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Intern

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is offering a comprehensive 12-week summer internship program for aspiring Data Center Infrastructure Engineers. This full-time role (40 hours/week) provides an exceptional opportunity to work with AWS's cutting-edge data center operations. As an intern, you'll collaborate with experienced professionals across various disciplines, contributing to the full life-cycle support of AWS Data Centers from initial design to maintenance.

You'll serve as a technical resource for your region, applying your engineering expertise to real-world challenges. The role involves daily interaction with diverse teams responsible for all aspects of data center operations. You'll focus on maintaining data center capacity availability and safety, while having the chance to work on both local and global projects.

The position offers hands-on experience in design review, equipment evaluation, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. You'll work alongside teams in server hardware, environmental health and safety, and data center design engineering, gaining valuable exposure to multiple aspects of cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Intern

  • Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Create Corrective Action documentation for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions

Requirements For Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Intern

Linux
  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Expected graduation between December 2025 and September 2026
  • Previous knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics and/or Thermodynamics
