Description For Data Center Operations Manager

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the backbone of AWS's cloud operations, managing data center facilities and teams that keep cloud services running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will lead teams of data center technicians and operators, ensuring 24/7 operational excellence. You'll be responsible for managing performance, developing career paths, handling staffing, and overseeing day-to-day operations including queue management and hardware logistics.   • Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
  • Manage performance of diverse teams across different locations
  • Develop career paths for employees
  • Recruit and train data technicians
  • Manage day-to-day data center operations including queue management and 24/7 shift arrangement
  • Ensure operational KPIs and metrics are met
  • Manage Large Scale Events (outages)
  • Maintain on-call schedule
  • Recommend and oversee policies and procedures
  • Improve work-flows and through-put for data centers operations

Requirements For Data Center Operations Manager

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of professional or military experience in an IT related field
  • 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment
  • 2+ years of experience with Networking, or Computer hardware
