Description For Data Center Project Manager, Critical Projects Implementation (CPI)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team manages construction activity within operational data center spaces, focusing on critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize utilization of space, power, and cooling within operation data centers around the globe.

As a Data Center Project Manager, you will:

  • Manage construction-related activities for modifying existing infrastructure and installing new or replacing end-of-life equipment.
  • Oversee project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Provide project management for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
  • Review electrical designs and construction/project package drawings.
  • Create project scopes, requests for proposals, and capital requests.
  • Ensure total project quality, including creating and overseeing commissioning plans.
  • Record and report key metrics to team members and management.
  • Support operations by reviewing procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis for equipment or electrical failures.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient, high-quality project turnovers.
  • Act as a leader within the group and with internal/external teams supporting the data center.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. The role requires both independent contribution and the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.

Requirements For Data Center Project Manager, Critical Projects Implementation (CPI)

  • Experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
  • Experience in Vendor Management
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar Technical focus (preferred)
  • Experience in power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems (preferred)
